Proposed Redevelopment of the Oval, Hackney E2, London.

in the Streets of Hackney.Playscape Complex A. 2002
A proposal to transform a small, light industrial area of East London into a self-sustainable, interconnected urban farm. The redevelopment utilises forest farming, roof gardening, DIY energy production, composting, rainwater harvesting and greywater filtration techniques. The Oval - a small cluster of warehouses built around a central open space used as a carpark - would be barricaded off from the neighbouring commercial art gallery area with a system of compost barricades. This central area would then be flooded by redirecting a nearby canal to create an artificial wetland. Central to the whole development is a mega-adventure playground.
