This intersection in NYC at Bedford Street, East Houston and 6th Avenue has changed considerably over the past 10 years. It started as a small concrete pedestrian island, with two trees on it. In the mid-1990s this became the home to a group of homeless people. To prevent them from camping under the trees a flower bed was created. Here a flower bed has been added to remove any encampments. Later designs are more extreme where a park is added.
